Our goal is to fit you with contact lenses that give clear and comfortable vision.

Establishing a Good Contact Lens Fit at Northlake Eyecare Associates

It all starts with a thorough eye exam to ensure the most up-to-date prescription and rule out any pre-existing conditions that could interfere with your contact lens wear.

Fitting lenses to your lifestyle
Northlake Eyecare Associates will help determine the best fitting contact lens based on your lifestyle needs and the shape and health of your eyes. In most cases, you’ll have the opportunity to try lenses on the same day as your exam. You may even go home with a few samples before making a final decision.

Follow-up fittings
Our eyecare team will follow up after your initial contact lens fitting and make any necessary changes in fit or materials to get you the best possible result. We instruct our patients proper contact lens care and possible consequences if proper care is not taken. Then we continue with long-term follow-up to monitor the condition of the lenses and to ensure that proper hygiene is being maintained.

  • A routine exam won’t provide some of the measurements and testing that are required to determine if your eyes are suitable for contact lens wear. You’ll also need a specific contact lens prescription for an exact fit.
  • Scleral lenses are a specialized contact lenses that make contact lens use possible for many people for the first time. They have advantages for normal contact lens wearers as well.
  • If you need correction for presbyopia, but dislike the idea of bifocal eyeglasses, you have other contact lens options.
  • Myopia Control is the beginning of stopping nearsightedness in children, preventing their glasses from getting thicker every year, and ultimately ensuring healthy eyesight for their future.
  • ACUVUE® VITA™ Brand Contact Lenses with HydraMax™ Technology. Learn how it provides reliable, superior comfort all month long.
  • Introducing the new 1-Day Acuvue® MOIST® Brand Multifocal Contact Lenses
  • Bausch + Lomb ULTRA® for Presbyopia lenses are now available for outstanding near, intermediate, and distance vision.
  • The clariti® 1 day contact lenses feature AquaGen technology, so your eyes stay moist and comfortable all day.
  • These rigid lenses aren’t as popular as soft lenses, but they offer the advantages of durability, crisp vision and high oxygen permeability.
  • Challenges such as astigmatism, presbyopia, keratoconus and dry eyes needn’t be a barrier to contact lens wear, but they do require more time and patience.
  • “I can’t wear soft contacts; I have astigmatism.” This once-true statement is now simply a myth.
  • Contact lenses and water are a bad combination—even when showering, swimming, or using a hot tub.

Dr. Rad Patel 1989-2023

It’s with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Northlake Eyecare Associates, Dr. Rad Patel at the young age of 33. His shining personality and humor brought happiness to everyone he encountered.

Dr. Patel graduated from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry in 2018. He completed an externship at OMNI Eyecare Services and was chosen as a resident in Ocular Disease. He completed his residency with a diploma from UAB in 2019. He then joined the established optometry practice of Dr. Steven R. Warstadt & Associates in Atlanta. In 2021, Dr. Patel became the sole owner, and the practice became known as Northlake Eyecare Associates.

With regret, Dr. Patel passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023. He was taken too soon, and we will miss him deeply. Northlake Eyecare Associates is still operating for all patients.
