Dr. Radhakrishna Patel grew up in Cedartown, Georgia. He attended San Jose State University (SJSU) in San Jose, CA, where he graduated in 2014 with a BS in Chemistry, with a concentration in Biochemistry. At SJSU, he was an active chemist, performing laboratory DNA research on various conditions, such as the Dengue and Zika mosquito viruses. He was an executive board member for various organizations, such as the Pre-Optometry Association, Biology Club, and Chemistry Club. He also provided healthcare community services in Africa and Honduras.
Dr. Patel graduated from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry in 2018. During optometry school, he was an active member of the Lions Club, VOSH/International, and NOSA. He served in leadership positions as a board member for the Sports Vision Club, founder of the Mentors Program, president of the Orientation committee, and vice-president of the class of 2018. He was very excited to participate in the annual Dominican Republic trip, providing eye exams in and around communities that lack healthcare services. His clinical externship programs included the Woolfson Eye Institute in Atlanta, Capital Eye Consultants in Virginia, and Omni Eye Services of Atlanta.
Since graduation, Dr. Patel has pursued his long-term career goal by completing a residency program in Ocular Pathology and Disease Management at Omni Eye Services of Atlanta. He received significant specialty training in various ocular diseases and conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and corneal pathology. He is also the new owner of Northlake Eyecare Associates (formerly Dr. Steven R. Warstadt & Associates).
Dr. Patel feels blessed and honored to be part of the Northlake Eyecare Associates team and looks forward to providing outstanding eyecare services to patients in his home state of Georgia.
